When it comes to which categories I would use, I would keep it simple. I work on and provide support for highly technical and integrated systems. Many of the users are fairly inexperienced. Keeping the explanations simple and to the point will work best. At the same time, keeping the material relevant and relatable.
So, there is the actual
tester. Each one has their own self-test procedure. If one category is testers.
Then there would need to be four subcategories, one for each tester. Then we
move into the applications. Some only work with one tester. Others can be cross
decked between testers. That is a rabbit hole the size of the Grande Canyon. Let’s
not go there in this blog.
We have training and
troubleshooting. While there are several things which can be done to over come
errors in a system, there are way too many to go over in a single blog. Another
rabbit hole!
I would have to build a table
of categories. Then under each category, build a table of subcategories. All
this to stay organized, keep on point and relevant for the customer. These guys
want the BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front). I will need to be clear, concise and to
the point.
Below is an off the cuff table:
Training
Troubleshooting
GPATS
TETS
VIPER(v)2
VIPER(v)3
GRMATS
Applications (This list would
be long)
